The BE Project – In a world where you can be anything…. what will you be?
The BE Project will always be a part of my heart. Maybe it will be my legacy. Maybe it will just be a way to let me connect into people in a way that means something. We live in a crazy world. A world where people feel like the anonymity of sitting behind a computer gives them the power and the right to be ugly. I personally believe that each baby step I make, can make the world a little better. Starting this year – we will do this annually. One of the greatest parts of this project has been having some of these humans come back each year. I’ve had the honor of following their journey – learning their hearts and walking along beside them in their journeys. My hope is that each person that has joined me in this project has been affected in some way. Even if they didn’t show up to be photographed – sharing and reading the stories… I hope it makes a difference. Even if only a small, tiny difference.
What word did you choose and why?
This year I chose the word Direct. I am a people pleaser by nature. I desperately want people to like me. I mean… desperately. This part of my personality has caused me to not always be direct in what I feel and what I think. This year, I want to focus more on being very direct with my intentions, thoughts, feelings and words. Kindness should always prevail – however, I want to give my self the permission to speak freely and stand tall in my truth and my feelings. Knowing that you own your own power and give yourself permission to feel all the feelings you have – I have to believe that it will be a powerful thing.
